Phone numbers
Claim a number, keep your existing one, or release a number you no longer need.
1.Claim a number
Every number handles both voice and SMS and powers your AI agents. Basic includes one; Intermediate up to 3 and Enterprise more.
- 1Open Phone Numbers in the sidebar.
- 2Pick one under “Ready to claim” for an instant number. On a paid plan you can also search for a new one: type a few digits and click “Search”.
- 3Click “Claim”, confirm your details, then click “Claim this number”.
2.Register your business (paid plans)
UK rules require business numbers to be registered to the business that uses them. On a paid plan you do this once, and your numbers are then in your business's name.
- 1Open Phone Numbers and click “Register your business”.
- 2Enter your registered business name, where it's registered and the registration number, your website and your business address.
- 3Add your name, a work email (ideally on your website's domain) and your own mobile number.
- 4Tick to confirm, then click “Send for approval”. Our phone provider usually approves it within 3 working days, and we email you when it's done.
Tip: Your current number keeps working while you wait, and moves into your business's name automatically once approved.
3.Keep your existing number (Enterprise)
Rather than telling customers a new number, divert your current one so your AI answers it instead.
- 1Open Phone Numbers and expand “Forward an existing number here” under your Harborne number.
- 2Enter the existing business number calls will come from, then click “Save number”.
- 3On that phone, dial the divert code shown to switch forwarding on - or set the divert in your network's app.
- 4Make a quick test call to your old number, then click “Verify forwarding”.
Tip: Your old number doesn't change, and you can switch the divert off whenever you like by dialling the cancel code shown on the same panel.
4.Release or re-sync a number
- You can't release a number while it's connected to an agent. Detach it from the agent first.
- Releasing a number removes it from the calling platform and frees it from your account.
- Use Re-sync if a number ever looks out of step with the calling platform.
